Home of the Whirlwinds
The town
of Archie, in south central Cass County, was founded in the summer of 1880.
The railroad was just laying tracks through the area, and the town and
depot were named after Archie Talmage, the railroad superintendent's (H.C.
Talmage) youngest son.
