The 1999 Archie Volleyball Team reached all-time
heights with a final 27-4-1 record. The outstanding season included
a District Championship, and a sectional second place finish which left
Archie in the final 8 in the state. The Lady Winds were also named
thte 1999 Girl's Area Sport's Team of the Year by the Cass County Democrat.
Other team accomplishments were a WEMO Conference Championship, a 2nd place
finish in the WEMO Conference Tournament, a 1st place finish in the Wheatland
Invitational Tournament, and a 3rd place finish in the Archie Tournament.
Second year coach, Jeff Jones, states, "I think
we are on the verge of building a strong tradition. We graduated
some strong players last year and some incredible kids again this year,
but I think our future for next year and beyond is bright because of the
work ethic and enjoyment the players are gaining from their participation
in the sport."
